Hello all! I know life has been a bit crazy and stressed for me as of late and I'm sure it has been the same for everyone else too! I have missed you guys! The other thing I have missed is the challenges. I always really enjoyed doing them, even when they were hard work. My question for you is: What do you think we should do about the challenges? They are only fun when there is more than one person participating. We'll think about any suggestions. More challenges? Less challenges? Different Challenges? Rotating challenges? Less time? More time? What ever you think would help! Even if it just means saying goodbye to that section of our site. What do you think???

I love a challenge, but i am also a little daunted by the talent on this board and also quite overwhelmed by RL. Between work, school, 3-hour commutes every day, a household to run, a social life to be active in and personal things popping up all the time, i find it hard to come up with the time to participate. This doesn't mean i think we should give up on the challenges. Perhaps we could make the challenges more personal? I'd love to read a fluffy story by saki for instance, or a poem by Di - something outside their 'comfort zone' (to put it bluntly). Anyway - just my two cents/ And i haven't come up up with anything witty to insert either...

Dearest Di, why don't you try something with: grass - you can take that in many ways as i am sure either Shakespeare or Led Zeppelin would have done Can't wait for the result!

I don't think I have anything witty to add here either, but I have been thinking about our poor challenges lately.
What if we had a rolling challenge? I.E. We put up a prompt and leave it there until one or more people take it. Once it is taken, they have a week or two (?) to post it, and then put up a prompt of their own which will stay there until someone takes it. etc, etc.
I am figuring the short time limit with the reasoning that if someone takes the prompt they would already have something in mind because their Muse is squeeing with delight at the prospect. ;D
And then, if more than one person decides to take the prompt, we would have a voting like we always have before when there was more than one entry.
Oh, and maybe we wouldn't always limit it to FF/PS prompts since we do have other areas that need some fics to fill them too??
Sigh. That is all I have. (I completely understand the rl thing, and I miss everyone here. But I am trying to be around more, now that the exchange I entered is done.) =o)

I think I like that idea Stef. We could try it. It could also work like Daph's idea. For instance I could say, "esp for Stef, write a fic about a character having a chocolate addiction" but of course if Di felt inspired to do it, she could write one as well. What do you think?

That could work, I suppose. But what if the person can't think of something to write??

Then we hope someone else does?
Shall we try this? I could put one up. Can you enter ones that you post?

I put up a challenge. See what you guys think. Unfortunately there is still a lack of wit.
