A/N: my peace offering I'm sorry I ditched, I got caught up in my first year of uni!! But I wrote this for you all, to tell you I missed you I hope you like it.
PS: it's kind of pointless. I don't know where I got the idea...
~
Pomona smiled, as she hummed to herself, and lightly fluffed the soil in the pot before her. It was a nice Saturday afternoon; the summer day was warm, and she entertained the idea for a few minutes of convincing her husband to go for a swim in the lake with her.
She always loved summer; it was generally quiet, and the season being her second favourite season, she found herself outside tending to the Hogwarts Gardens more often than needed. Sometimes she would spoil herself with a short break, sitting on one of the benches relaxing in the sun while keeping her mind busy by creating new flower arrangements in her head. After the downfall of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named, there were far more weddings happening than usual, and since summer being the preferable wedding season, she was kept more than busy.
But as it happened, Pomona could not put off re-potting some of the more picky flowers. So she stood in her beloved greenhouse # 4, smiling and humming a quiet tune to herself. Perhaps she would go for a quick swim in the lake later...
Pomona placed the flower in its new pot, before covering it with more soil, when her husband, Filius Flitwick, came bursting through the doors.
She almost dropped the pot to the concrete floor, he scared her so much. Her hand flying to her neck, the other steadying her pot, she let out her gasp, before dropping her hand again. Filius stared at her and their eyes locked. Pomona’s breathing returned back to normal quickly, but Filius had run all the way from the castle, it seemed, because his chest was heaving in gasps of air.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” Pomona asked, moving from behind the counter, to face him.
A moment of silence fell over the couple, before Filius replied, “I missed you.”
Pomona frowned, and shook her head. She would really never understand that man. “You... ran all the way down here... because you missed me?” She placed her hand on the counter to her right, and leaned on it. Her other hand folded at her hip.
Filius was still breathing quite hard; it was not an easy run for him. “... Yes.”
Pomona paused, then shook her head, and went behind the counter, back to re-potting the flowers. Filius took a stool that was off to the side, and placed it on the other side of the counter, before taking a seat on it. He grabbed a pot and started to fill it with soil (he was never allowed to do anything else). “How has your day been going?”
“Well. I think we should go for a swim later on; what do you think?” Pomona placed the newly potted plant on the counter behind her, and took the next one from Filius.
“I think that would be perfect.”
Silence came over the two, as they continued to work over the pots, soil, and flowers.
“You smell like green apples.” Filius said, smiling at Pomona.
Pomona gave him a sweet smile in return, leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. “New perfume; Minerva bought it for me for my birthday.”
