Yesterday after work i bought 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard' and read most of it on my way home. One of the great advantages of commuting by train i think.
I love it. I really think it is great, it has all the quirkyness that lives in the Harry Potter realm, the character of Albus Dumbledore, two mentions of Minerva McGonagall (and none of Gellert, thank-you-very-much!) and five 'fairytales'. My favourite is "The Fountain of Fair Fortune".
I really recommend buying this, i know it doesn't come cheap, but part of it will be donated to an incredibly worthy charity and you will own the stories Albus left the trio. Plus, illustrated by JKR and not half bad!

We're selling them at Target (said in fake French accent) for around 8 bucks.

I don't know if I will buy it. Here in Italy books are REALLY expensive. There are no cheap editions of JKR's books, you know?

Well, WalMart and Target (don't forget to say this with a French accent; Sprinkles will get upset ) have them here for about 7 or 8 bucks. I'll buy a bunch and mail them to you. Or, you could fly over to Florida and Jimmy and I will take you shopping. Heh. Fun times!

Yesterday I bought it, €10. But it's really worth it, I admit that... I almost cried at the end of "The Warlock's Hairy Heart". It is really heartbreaking. I've loved the little things about the HP universe I have discovered there: Professor Kettleburn's first name, for example (Silvanus is a pretty name, though I've always imagined him as Klaus XD), or the previously unknown Professor Beery. I would like to know who were the players in the mise-en-scène of "The Fountain of Fair Fortune", as this could bring a lot of... plot bunnies!

I got Tales for Xmas. I had/have mixed feelings about getting it because I disliked DH to such an extent, but I'm actually looking forward to reading it. I'm wondering if I should skip the AD commentary, though. Anybody have any suggestions about that? I'm hypersensitive about DH content in stuff . . .

Actually, i hated DH so much, i hardly remember half of it, but i have a feeling you can easily read it, Albus' comments and all.
It is so much like a fairytale book, i think you will enjoy it nonetheless. My favourite is The Funtain of Fair Fortune (or something like that, i haven't got it here with me).
Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, pinkie! That's good to hear. I think we probably are both on the same wavelength when it comes to DH, so I trust your judgment on that!
