Pudding, Distractions and Strawberries
Genre: Fluff/Romance, you choose.
Word count: 300 exactly, with much editing.
Summary: Some musings at the start of term feast, completely random, no idea where any of it came from.
He’d never really been one for pudding; he much preferred a cherry soda in his rooms later. Though sacrifices must be made for certain things. Besides, it was the start of term feast and leaving wasn’t possible. And if he only had something to drink Albus would try to finish early and he didn’t want that. He hadn’t seen her for almost a month after all. He leaned over to pick up a sponge pudding and shot a glance to the witch at his left.
She was deep in conversation with Xiomara, but he could still watch over her. He smiled softly; he hoped they would have another chance to talk tonight. He watched her from the corner of his eye; she seemed unaware that she had chosen strawberries, despite being allergic to them. Distracted, she had allowed the wisps of short hair to fall in her eyes and frame her face. She looked beautiful, he thought. Before she began to eat, however, Filius seized the chance to interrupt and stop her eating strawberries.
“Pomona, dear,” he took the dish from her, “I am not sure you should eat those.”
“What? Oh! Thank you Fil, that was very careless of me. What would I do without you?” she replied, smiling brightly.
Filius was completely lost, her eyes seemed to shine in the soft lighting, a few freckles were scattered across her nose and cheeks and her smile was as gentle as ever.
“Erm, Fil?” she asked, tipping her head to one side.
He was dragged, flustered, from his reverie, “Hmm? Oh, sorry Mona I was miles away. Tell me, how was your holiday?”
As she began to talk animatedly, Filius watched and listened intently completely unaware of the look on Xiomara’s face before she turned away shaking her head fondly.
