Title: Waltzing Pomona
Rating: All
Summary: Sandy felt bad that no one else had entered the challenge, and I am told someone told her that if she mentioned it to me, I would write something. You people know me too well. lol So here is my entry...
Pomona bit back a groan as Horace stepped on hers toes. The Ministry’s Annual Christmas Ball had not started well and was getting worse. He trampled on her bruised toes once more, again without apology, and Pomona was wondering how she could rescue herself from his grasp before the waltz was over. As if he read her mind, Albus appeared before her and tapped on Horace’s shoulder.
“Sorry to interrupt.” He did not look apologetic, but Pomona was too grateful to argue. “Horace, I believe the Minister wished to speak with you.”
Before Albus said more, Horace left them with a half-nod to Pomona and made his way across the room. Pomona smiled brightly, about to thank Albus for her rescue when he continued.
“Pomona, I’d like you to meet Filius Flitwick, Charms Master, Champion Dueler, and new professor of Charms at Hogwarts, if we can talk him into it.”
Pomona smiled at the wizard who was just shorter than her, noticing instantly how handsome he was. Thick reddish brown hair set off chocolate brown eyes. His trimmed beard revealed a strong jaw and handsome face. Broad shoulders and strong arms completed a very attractive package. She felt her cheeks begin to burn as Albus introduced her before stepping away.
She decided she definitely owed Poppy for convincing her to buy the festive, red dressrobes she was wearing when she caught Filius’ slow, appreciative smile.
“Care to dance, Professor Sprout?”
“It’s Pomona.”
“Yes, a goddess indeed.”
She was sure her cheeks were as bright as her dress. As Filius gracefully led her across the room, Pomona felt like she was walking on air. Yes, the ball was looking up and as they discussed his plans of a life at Hogwarts, she had a feeling her year was looking up as well.
Oh, and to escape the wrath of Elo, I will call this otherish? fluff? what do you think?
