My attempt at being funny...

Pomona opened the parcel with a delighted expression. Her old roommate had send her something she had never seen before, or at least, that was what the note said. With her fingers scratching at the Muggle sellotape, she whistled between her teeth. She looked out the window and saw a bright blue sky and a couple of owls on their way to the Owlery. She was alone for the day, Filius had gone to Hogsmeade with Albus and Alastor Moody who had come for a special Easter visit.
When she opened the cardboard box, she was stunned. In little strands of white... stuff... she found chocolate eggs and figures of little chicks, ducklings and flowers, fondant tulips and a little box of that one thing she had never seen before.
A little flat box, wrapped with yellow cellophane, filled with brightly coloured bunnies. It did not look like anything she had ever seen before, that was for sure. In fact, she was not entirely sure she wanted to see it. The colour was so bright, she wondered if it was magically enhanced. With a careful finger she traced one of the little figures, but it didn't move.
In blue letters, over a yellow oval, it read: 'Peeps'.
"Peeps?" Pomona murmered. This was something so new and peculiar, she decided to call in reinforcements. A flick of her wand and her Patronus dashed away and in minutes, her friends Minerva and Poppy were at her side.
"What is thát?" Minerva pointed at the yellow bunnies. Her voice was lined with disgust.
"Peeps?" Pomona squeaked.
"Peeps?" Poppy prodded the package with her wand.
"It comes with a note from Helen. Apparently these are all the rage in the US. She even send a leaflet with 'fun facts' about them." Pomona gingerly pulled Poppy's wand away from the package. Then she read aloud:
"They are marshmallow! And the company who makes them produces enough of these little creatures to cirlce the Earth twice each year. Also, they are non-fat, gluten-free and there are no traces of nuts in there."
"Marshmallow never has gluten, does it?" Minerva pointed out, ever practical.
Poppy and Pomona glowered at her. "Killjoy." Poppy accused.
Pomona returned to her leaflet. "Apparently people do curious things with Peeps..." she held off, looking at her friends.
Minerva quipped: "I am sure we won't do anything curious with them!" Poppy sniggered. Pomona laughed. "They meant that the way they eat them is sometimes funny - some let them age, others freeze them or... mi-cooo-waaave them. Whatever that may be."
"Do we dare to..." Poppy started.
"Open it?" Minerva finished the sentence.
"Well, Helen probably did not send it to just be gawked at." Pomona took matters in hand and tried to pull the plastic from the box. She didn't succeed. Soon the three women tried to open the container of Peeps, all the while saying things like: "I don't know how Muggles do this!" and "It is a miracle any of these ever get eaten!" But finally Minerva shook back her shoulders, took a breath and whispered a vanishing spell.
The yellow Peeps stared at them. Tentatively, Pomona stuck out her hand and lifted a little figure from the cardboard. She sniffed it. Then she took a tiny little bite from its ear. A bright smile appeared on her face.
"It's marshmallow alright!" Two eager hands grabbed figures from the box.
When the men came back, they found the three witches on the sofa, murmering and moaning.
"What is the matter with you lot?" Filius said, surprised at their reception.
Minerva groaned.
"What's wrong?" Albus asked, worried that there was something truly amiss.
"It's the Peeps..." Poppy grunted.
"Too many Peeps..." Pomona said weakly.
The men turned their eyes to the empty package on the floor. They looked at each other and the women in turns, collectively chuckled and left the poor dears to their peace.
