I have used five out of six. Somehow it is getting to be more difficult to write each day! Still, i wanted to enter the challenge anyway.
Truth or dare?
Nobody owned up to it and even after days of detention, Severus Snape was no nearer to the truth. He had opened his classroom in the dungeons on a crisp Tuesday morning and had been greeted by a creeping field of Poison Ivy, ready to jump at him. Of course he had closed the door quickly, put on some rubber gloves and tried to get rid of the itchy plants through magic, but somehow instead of disappearing, the Ivy had multiplied. Severus' first thoughts were going to the Weasley twins. He had badgered them and was close to feeding them Veratiserum, when Filius Flitwick had chosen to drop by.
With a quick swish and flick of his wand, Filius got rid of the offensive prickles and smiled widely in Severus face, leaving him to simmer in his bad attitude. Of course it had helped that Filius had been present when a certain someone had made the Ivy grow in Severus' dungeons.
Saturday morning had started out as normal as it had been starting for the past few years. He had a lie in, Pomona was in her greenhouse, tending to her orchids and gereniums. They had lunch together and read in the afternoon. When it was nearing five, there had been a knock on the door and Minerva and Poppy had invited his best girl to a few drinks in the teacher's lounge. All the rest of the female staff was there and her presence was sorely missed
It was nearing nine when he could hear Pomona sing loudly: "One Tequila! Two Tequila!" Then he knew that she was slamming them back and there would be no salt for him to put on his soft boiled egg in the morning. There were cries: "Truth or Dare!". He could hear 'You can leave your hat on' and he knew that Poppy would be doing one of her costumary stripteases. 'Tequila makes her clothes fall off' would have been more appropriate. Filius was thankful that Pomona usually knew to keep her dress on - even though she could not resist a 'truth or dare'.
Ten fifteen, Filius heard the ladies giggle and the door slammed. Squealing they went down the stairs, past Filius' chambers and he got up from the sofa, threw on his cape and followed the women to the dungeons, where Pomona opened the door to the Potions classroom and slurred a spell. With another squeal, they ran out of the room, closed the door and ran back up the stairs. Filius was glad he had heard what Pomona had slurred - it was hard enough undoing a spell if you didn't know what it was, let alone if someone mangled the words.
Filius tried not to look at Poppy, who was wearing her slip and one stocking and her normally tight bun had come undone. Minerva was wearing lipstick, blush and mascara and curls piled up high on her head and Pomona... well, she looked pretty normal, except that she was singing "All things dull and nasty" by the Pythons. Filius decided to go to bed and try to sleep.
Two o'clock in the morning and the bedroomdoor swung open. Pomona was singing loudly: "Ring around the rosie" and when she arrived at 'we all fall down' she fell on the bed and fell asleep, sprawled partly over Filius, still wearing most of her clothes, though she appeared to have lost a shoe.
Sunday morning, Filius awoke from birds chirping beneath his bedroom window. Pomona had falled off the bed and was sleeping soundly on the floor. He covered her with the duvet and he got dressed. When he arrived at the breakfast table, he found Albus, who was snickering at the sight of Minerva, who was nursing a cup of strong tea and pushing bacon and eggs around on her plate. There was no sign of any other female teacher.
Filius could feel his colleague's head pounding from his end of the table. When he looked at Minerva, he could still see traces of mascara under her eyes, making her look rather unhealthy. Filius breakfast was brought to him and as he cut into his poached egg, he saw Pomona coming in from across the room. Silently she made her way to her seat and when she sat down, he could hear her moan slightly. She nodded at Minerva, who nodded back and grabbed her forehead.
All wouldn't have been so bad, if only Pomona could remember what she had done during the Truth or Dare... There was a bump on her head and her hands were covered in little blisters, as if she had been touching Poison Ivy. Next time she would not drink. At all! She would become a... a... oh, whatever it is called!
Like she had said so many Sundays before.
