Yes, that is the question.
So the new challenge, which we staffers were excited about, has gotten no responses to date. I'm just putting up this poll just to find out what is going on with that and what you guys are thinking. I'm not blaming anyone. I obviously didn't enter either so don't worry about that. I am just looking for solutions and suggestions.
Thanks!

Ok, now that I have the chance to express my opinion... I'll come clean. I don't like the new challenge at all. Oh Merlin, I said it! Well, you know, it is really a very common type of challenge, and in my country it is widespread in HP fanfic sites. But it is also quite difficult, and the time to submit the entry is never less than a month. I usually don't partecipate to challenges (with an exception), because you all know my language troubles, but I also ignore Italian challenges of that kind, they are far too difficult anyway. I have some suggestions in mind, but I prefer to let the staff take a decision, for now.

I can only speak for myself but I have had ZERO time to work on writing fan-fics! And it is a bummer, challenges or no. It's just now mid-term and I am a paper-grading fool with exams and research papers; a necessary evil in my profession, I'm afraid. So, we can change or end the challenge, either way does not hurt my feelings in the least.
We're getting ready for summer term (believe it or not) at my college, and this means deans doing this and that (poo). And meetings, feckin' meetings all the time. Sheesh.
Today is Brian's birthday (from "What if?") and he'll just have to celebrate with Albus and Minerva without me for now.
I hope you gals are all doing well. It's just a crazy time of year, isn't it? This too shall pass! Seems like RaM updates are what get me through without killing someone (or hexing them into next week, or whatever).
;-)

Like I said before, I got an idea but my muse has been on vacation and I have been super busy at work. I think maybe changing it may be a good idea. But I do just think everyone has just been rather busy at the start of the year. (And yes, I know it is already March, but I can't believe we are going into the third month of the year already! Time is flying, sheesh.)

I like the challenge, I have been busy, away and ill and busy again.
Also, it's not really meant to have a theme, that's the point, allowing those things to take on very different directions in different stories. And I thought the Author's Choice was supposed to be the challenger picking something that didn't fit in any of the other categories e.g. someone crying or something.
Just my thoughts. I think we should at least run it again once more.

I agree with you Elo. That was my fault. I should have made the theme that was given the Author's Choice.
If we did that would have made a difference?

I'm not sure. I see what you mean though.
I still think we should run it once more and if it doesn't take off then remove/change it?

Okay tell you what, I will come up with a set of items and set a second challenge. If it doesn't inspire, no harm, no foul, right?
